Who We Are
Andrea Klein is a legal operations leader with over 20 years of experience inside family law firms, including serving as Chief Operating Officer of a high-performing divorce and family law practice in Ontario.
I help legal teams strengthen the operational side of their firms so they can grow with more clarity, consistency, and profitability.
My work focuses on solving the issues that often limit growth inside family law practices; inefficient systems, inconsistent intake processes, communication breakdowns, team friction, and operational bottlenecks that affect both client experience and financial performance.
Today, I combine:
-
Real-world law firm leadership experience
-
Fractional COO and operational strategy expertise
-
Deep knowledge of client communication, workflow design, and systems improvement
-
My role as Director of Education & Business Development with CDS Canada
To help firms build practices that are more:
✔ Efficient in how they operate
✔ Scalable in how they grow
✔ Profitable in how they perform
✔ Accountable in how teams execute
✔ Human-centered in how clients experience the process
I work with firms to build stronger systems, improve performance, and create operations that support sustainable growth.
Meet Andrea Klein
Andrea Klein is the founder of AK Legal Operations Group and one of Canada’s leading law-firm operations and culture architects.
With more than 20 years inside family law, litigation support, and legal education, Andrea has built her career at the intersection of law, systems, and people. As Chief Operating Officer of a fast-growing family law firm, she led a full operational and cultural transformation that resulted in ten-fold revenue growth while dramatically reducing burnout and client conflict. Andrea is known for her ability to listen deeply, understand emotional dynamics, and translate complex problems into clear, workable solutions.
Lawyers, staff, and leaders feel seen by her, even in high-pressure situations, which allows her to calm chaos, align teams, and create real change. She brings both structure and compassion into every firm she works with.

Founder’s Story
Andrea’s work is deeply personal and now, deeply purposeful.
As a single mother who has spent her entire adult life working inside the family law system, Andrea understands both sides of family law: the professional and the deeply human side. She was divorced when her son was just one year old, and again in 2020. Both experiences that gave her firsthand insight into the emotional, financial, and operational realities families face when relationships break down.
After her second divorce, Andrea faced one of the most challenging periods of her life. Determined to keep her teenage son in the same high school, she took on multiple roles, often working three to four jobs at a time, simply to maintain stability. She stepped away from her own business to secure traditional employment so she could qualify for a mortgage, all while raising her son with limited financial support.
There were moments when the path forward was unclear.
Today, her son Matt is 18 and embarking on a double-degree program at Laurier University - a future that once felt out of reach, now fully realized.
That lived experience now informs every aspect of Andrea’s work.
As Director of Education and Business Development with CDS Canada, Andrea brings a new lens to the legal profession; one grounded in communication, education, and human-centered systems. She works with law firms to integrate professional development, strengthen team communication, and design intake and operational workflows that better support both clients and the professionals serving them.
She teaches what is often missing in traditional legal training: how to communicate with clarity, lead with empathy, and build systems that reduce friction rather than create it.
Andrea understands the invisible weight clients carry, and the unseen pressure within law firms themselves.
Her work bridges that gap.
She partners with firms to build environments where people are supported, communication is intentional, and operations are designed with humanity in mind, not just efficiency.
Andrea’s mission is simple:
To help law firms become places of strength instead of strain; where clients feel supported, teams feel aligned, and law firms can grow without sacrificing the people within it.
